Facebook Portal is a video calling device that comes in a variety of form factors for everyone. Portal, Portal+, and Portal Go are touch-screen devices, and Portal TV uses your television. VRS is provided on those devices via ZP’s apps. The collaboration between Meta and ZP brings the deaf and hard of hearing community the opportunity to have multiple Portal devices in their home so that they can stay in touch no matter where they go.
To get started, you’ll need a Portal device, a ZP account, and the P3 or Z5 app from the Portal App Store. If you don’t have a Portal, and are an eligible individual who is deaf or hard of hearing, use American Sign Language and live in the United States, you can apply to receive a Portal from ZP to use as a videophone to communicate with people who speak English or Spanish.
